Freedom to Read: An America250 Celebration: Tuesday, June 30th, 4pm-6pm
Marion Carnegie Library is celebrating 250 years of The Declaration of Independence! This event will span the full library. In the Children’s Department, participate in themed crafts and balloon horse races. The musical Hamilton will be showing in the Young Adult Department. And, on the Main Floor, experience the teas of the Boston Tea Party and work on our community jigsaw puzzle.
Add a leaf to any of the Liberty Trees to celebrate what independence and the pursuit of happiness means to you. Take a selfie with The Statue of Liberty and enjoy a cookie. Experience an 18th century spinning wheel demonstration with the Black Sheep Fiber Guild and visit with costumed volunteers with the Harrison-Bruce Historical Village. All ages. No registration required.
